Job Description:

We at BID2BUILD are seeking highly motivated OSP Designers to join our growing team. In this role, you will play a vital role in designing and analyzing outside plant facilities, ensuring they meet all safety and regulatory requirements. You’ll be an integral part of the engineering team and will design networks using a variety of tools ensuring constructability issues are incorporated into the network designs.
About the job:
Responsibilities:
- Design fiber routes and lay-out counts including: FTTH,FTTB
- Engineering aerial, or underground fiber routes.
- Work within the defined QA/QC review process to ensure accuracy with final drawings.
- Drafts and designs new plant or plant extension and as-builts utilizing the client specific software.
- Communicates with the Permit Team in order to gather and provide accurate information with regards to construction design.
- Determine method to design the plant changes with minimal impact to the system/customer and minimize related construction cost and ensures quality of design.
- Conducting field surveys (aerial and underground).
- Attend customer meetings and perform site surveys or walk-outs as necessary to comply with customer requirements.
Requirements of the role:
- 2-4 years of experience in the utilities and elecommunications sector would be an asset.
- Experience with fiber design software such as Spatial net and other related
planning software; working knowledge of AutoCAD and other GIS / Spatial
platforms. - Understanding of CAD and software applications used to create engineering designs. Expert at design fiber routes and lay-out counts including: FTTH, FTTB.
- Knowledge of customer database systems (i.e.. NetX, ipairs, etc.) is a must.
- Proficient with the use of computers and software, including MS Office (Word, Visio, Excel).
- Excellent verbal, written and communication skills.
- Strong time management skills.
- Self-motivated, ability to learn new skills and adapt.
- Ability to liaise with customers and clients to resolve any challenges.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, team player and adaptability.
- Capable of working under pressure, sense of rgency, self-motivated
